InoIno (Ee-No) was one of 7 puppies that were brought into the rescue. She was the third of her siblings to pass away. Ino came back to us when she was 8 years old because her adoptive parents were unable to afford the health treatments she needed. Along with joint issues common to older dogs, Ino had fallen ill and it was found she had heartworms. Though her original foster parent, who is a highly skilled vet tech, did everything that could be medically done, Ino eventually succumbed to her illness and the heartworm Immiticide treatments. Medical heartworm treatment to eradicate the parasite is very hard on a dog. Depending on the dogs age, severity of infestation,. additional complications, and overall health, dogs can have accelerated aging (like Jasmine Pi) or perish. All of the cumulative issues finally made the decision to let her go to end her suffering. We are so grateful to her foster mom for being there for Ino during her final months, days, and hours.

Who She Was : |
Ino was the second smartest puppy in the litter behind Kaze and never let anyone forget it. She was a troublemaker whose only rival for mischief was Anko. She had boundless energy and the only thing thing that ever took her down was getting carsick. Never missing a moment to be a crazy pup, she found way to entertain everyone and herself with her antics. We knew she would need a home where she could release all that energy and have freedom. We eventually found a home for her where she could do all of that. Ino was adopted in North Carolina by a family who had a large track of land and as a companion for their large Husky mix. She lived out most of her life there and only came back when her health was beyond financial reach.

Her History : |
Ino was one of 7 puppies that came into the rescue that we dubbed the Naruto Puppy Batch. Each of them received a name from the Anime 'Naruto'. Ino was the third largest puppy in the litter. The puppies were found in a tied up trash bag by a Garbage Man who stopped short of throwing the bag in the truck when he heard their tiny cries. He immediately brought them to Animal Control to see if their lives could be saved. They were in luck as one of our important ALPRAS members worked there. We took them in to foster care right away. They were so young that their umbilical cords were still somewhat soft. We couldn't be certain, but we estimated them to be between 1-3 days old. We made their birthday the day they came to us.
